Vandhana

Ms.Vandhana is a clinical psychologist with a lot of zeal and commitment to the cause of helping people who are psychologically disturbed and distressed. She is compassionate, empathetic, and a holistic healer. Her goal is to help people to become fully functioning by actualizing their potential and to lead a comfortable and satisfying life. Toward this end, she has acquired sufficient skill and expertise in the area of psychological counselling and behaviour modification. In addition, she is also trained in the art of teaching students using modern educational and vocational strategies, remedial education, and rehabilitation. She has established herself as a successful practising Clinical Psychologist for more than a decade; she offers services for Behavioural Training, Psychological Counselling Services, Family Conflict Counselling Services and Psychological Counselling Services for Corporate.

She obtained her B.Sc., Psychology from S.I.E.T College, Chennai, M.Sc Psychology, followed by M Phil in Professional Psychology from the University of Madras.  She also holds a diploma in learning disability. She also has received M.Phil Clinical Psychology training in Sri Ramachandra Medical University (SRU) Porur, Chennai, where she has handled patients with mild to moderate and severe mental disorders.

Ms. Vandhana currently works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital (KKCTH). She has worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Tagore Medical College, Chennai. She was also a Guest faculty in the University of Madras, Tamil Nadu Open University(TNOU) and National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH), where she took lecture for students of both regular and correspondence courses. She has conducted training sessions on various topics, such as stress management, counselling skills, work-place counselling, business communication, study skills, classroom management, and so on. She is a consultant psychologist for a few schools in Chennai and was a visiting consultant in a few corporate likes WOW and Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS).

She is engaged in her Private Clinical Practice at Purasawalkam. She also runs a remedial education center to bring out the hidden potential from the students who come from a poor socioeconomic and academic background. She is often being invited by reputed clinics, NGO’s and educational institution in and around Chennai to assist them in their work. She has worked in the Juvenile Justice Board as a testing officer, where she did psychological assessment, counselling and intervention work.

Ms. Vandhana has published many magazine articles in English and regional language newspapers to her credits. She has appeared on a number of renowned television channels and various FM radio channels giving talks on topics related to mental health awareness and other relevant social issues.
